What do you really want?
We all have goals.
And our goal keeps changing depending on our stage of life.
For someone, the most important goal right now might be related to money and will be thinking that it will solve all his problems. But the person who has achieved that goal will be laughing if he hears this since he knows the reality behind it.
The same happens in the case of health or even relationships for that matter.
Our expectations and reality don’t really match.
But is there something that we all want at any stage of life? Irrespective of income, gender, religion, etc…
What is it that we really want?
Is it more comfort?
I’m grateful that I’m living a pretty comfortable life when compared to my childhood. I have a separate room for myself filled with all the shiny tech and a nice comfy bed. I have everything I could imagine to make me comfortable enough. Anything else I add now will be a luxury and won’t make a huge impact on my comfort.
But still, something else seems missing.
More comfort is nice to have but not something I really want.
What about you?
Will 10x more comfort change your life completely?
Think about it.
Is it more social respect?
We all want to feel powerful. And we feel powerful when we get respected among the people we know. And even more powerful when we taste fame.
But is that enough?
Are celebs really content with their fame?
Think about it.
Is it more freedom?
For most freedom means earning X amount of money. And most likely that X will be based on what others in their circle are making. There is a hidden desire within us to make slightly more than our peers or family. We don’t compare ourselves with Elon’s wealth. We only compare it with the people we know.
Or if you’re currently working in a job, you might feel doing a biz will make you free since others who are doing it look like they are tasting freedom in your eyes. But the reality might be quite different.
So if your freedom is relative to what others have then it’s not really true freedom.
Will you be content with this type of freedom?
Think about it.
The common trend I could see is the endless want for more of everything. The problem is not just the endless desire for more but also the fear of losing what you have.
Desire and fear are two sides of the same coin. One can’t exist without the other. You want everything and also don’t want to lose anything.
Now yeah, you can try to control your desires and stop wanting more.
But do you want to compromise with your life?
Do you really want to settle for less?
At least I don’t.
I don’t want to be contained by any limitations. I want to be truly free to do anything I want.
Overlooked reality - We all are already free to do absolutely anything we want.
But what’s limiting us is our own conditioning to think small.
Either we are stuck being attached to the never-ending race for more. Or the so-called spiritual people renounce everything and see it as a great accomplishment. (Even this is a want for more)
What I’m talking about is absolute freedom. You pursue more of everything but at the same time be free from it.
It’s when you realise everything is pointless. You see the insignificance of your thoughts. But since you’re alive with this wonderful instrument called body and mind. Then why not use it to its full potential?
That’s when you’re free from the fear of losing what you have.
Everything starts feeling effortless.
You’re content from within but ready to explore everything that life has to offer.
You realise THIS moment is what you really wanted.
Because that’s where your deepest desire i.e. happiness exists.
I hope you’re enjoying THIS precious moment of your life.
Until then,
